My name is Mo, and I’m a sales specialist at Starfish Project.

I’d love to introduce Starfish Project to you. We are a brand that creates necklaces, earrings, rings, bracelets, and handmade home décor—each piece made with care, purpose, and dignity.

Starfish Project exists to care for women, support continued education, encourage career development, and provide holistic care. But beyond the mission, beyond the jewellery and gift collections… there are stories like mine.

Before joining Starfish Project, I couldn’t read or write my own name.

When I first arrived, everything felt unfamiliar. Letters. Words. Computers. Systems. Confidence. But one step at a time, I started to learn.

Today, I am in the first semester of third grade literacy classes.

There are eight students in my class—and I am the youngest at 35 years old. And I am incredibly proud.

Through my studies, I now recognise more and more words every day. I’ve learned how to use a computer and complete real work tasks—like tracking inventory in Excel, sending and receiving emails through Google, and documenting workflows in Google Docs. These may sound simple to some, but to me, they are milestones I once thought were impossible.

At Starfish Project, I’ve also learned offline sales skills and how to host live-stream sessions online. I have learned to speak, to present, and to believe in my own abilities.

These are the skills and growth I’ve gained through working here.
